AI Planner AI Planner
The short version

Your core planner data stays private on your device. Two optional features — Gemini AI suggestions and Google account integration — send data to Google's servers. Both are opt-in and clearly labeled. AI Planner operates no backend servers and never receives your planner data.

1. What we collect

1.1 Always stored locally

1.2 When using Gemini AI (optional)

Gemini AI runs on your own Google Gemini API key. Only the specific planner text you ask it to work on is sent to Google's Gemini API, for one of these features:

Gemini returns text (a category, a brief or suggestions) that the planner applies on your device. Because the request uses your own API key, this use is governed by Google's Gemini API Terms. No planner text is routed through or stored on an AI Planner server, and AI features are off until you enable them.

1.3 When using Voice Input (optional)

Chrome's Web Speech API captures audio and may send it to Google's speech recognition service for transcription. AI Planner does not receive or process any audio data.

1.4 When connecting a Google account (optional)

Connecting a Google account is entirely optional. If you connect one, AI Planner requests only the scopes below, and uses each one solely to display your information inside the planner. The table lists, for every requested scope, its Google-defined description, why AI Planner needs it, and exactly how the data is used.

ScopeGoogle descriptionWhy AI Planner needs it & how the data is used
calendar.readonly
Read-only
See and download any calendar you can access using your Google Calendar Why: to show your upcoming event titles and times next to your daily and weekly plan, so you can plan around meetings. Usage: read-only — AI Planner reads only event titles and times to render them in the planner. It never creates, edits or deletes events, and stores nothing on a server.
gmail.readonly
Read-only
View your email messages and settings Why: to show a lightweight summary of your recent unread email — the subject, sender and snippet of unread threads from the past 2 days (excluding Promotions, Social, Forums and Spam) — so you can spot bills and follow-ups that need planning. Usage: read-only — AI Planner reads only the subject, sender and snippet of recent unread threads to build the summary shown in the planner. It never opens full message bodies and never sends, deletes or modifies email. Snippets may be sent transiently to Google's Gemini API to classify which items are actionable, then discarded; no email content is stored on a server (the extension has no backend). Email data is never used for advertising, sold, or used to train models, in line with Google API Services Limited Use requirements.
tasks
Read & write
Create, edit, organize, and delete all your tasks Why: to show your existing Google Tasks inside the planner and let you add a new task or mark one complete from it. Adding and completing tasks requires write access, so the read-only Tasks scope is insufficient. Usage: read and write — AI Planner performs only list, insert and status-update operations: it reads task lists and titles to display them, and writes back only the tasks you add or complete in the planner. It never deletes task lists, bulk-modifies unrelated data, or stores anything on a server.
Google Drive
App folder only
Access limited to a private application data folder in Google Drive Why: to back up your planner data so you can restore it. Usage: AI Planner reads and writes only the private app folder it creates for backups. It cannot see or touch any other files in your Drive.

No Google account data is stored on AI Planner servers — every scope above is used only to read data into, or sync data with, the planner running in your browser.

2. How the extension works

All journal entries, priorities and goals save in Chrome's local storage. Gemini AI uses the API key you provide. Google account integration is opt-in. AI Planner operates no backend servers — there is no server that could receive your data.
